Is it really free?
Notes, previous year papers, flashcards, quizzes and the hackathon listings are free to read. The courses are paid and are marked as such everywhere they appear. Nothing else is behind a wall.
Which universities do you cover?
Universities across Rajasthan, Karnataka and Haryana. We add whichever universities students ask for most, so the list grows every semester.
What exactly are the flashcards?
They are built from our own YouTube one-shot lectures — same units, same order, timestamps matched to the video chapters. If you watched the one-shot, the deck lets you revise the whole subject in about twenty minutes.
What does an account do?
It remembers your university and year so you land on the right subject list, and it keeps your quiz results and revision progress. Reading the material does not depend on it.
Something is missing or wrong. Can you fix it?
Yes — email team@theycotes.com with the subject and university. Corrections usually go up the same week, and missing subjects get queued by how many people ask.

Live chat rooms
A room per subject, per paper, per college — or one you make yourself in about ten seconds. Public rooms anybody can walk into, request-to-join rooms if you want to know who is in there, and private rooms behind an invite code for your own group.
- Ask from the page you are stuck on. A question asked from a notes page lands in the room for that exact subject, with the unit attached.
- Answers get accepted. Whoever actually solved it gets the credit, and the accepted answer sits at the top for the next person.
- You can stay anonymous. Rooms carry a pseudonym unless you choose otherwise — asking a basic question should not cost you anything.
- Nothing disappears. The room is still there next semester, with last year's answers in it.

Networking across colleges
Most students never meet anybody outside their own campus, and the person sitting the identical paper four hundred kilometres away has the notes they are missing. Search by college, subject or year and just ask.
- Connections and follows are different things. Following somebody gets you their updates. Connecting is what opens a private chat — so a follow is never a foot in the door.
- Private means absent. A private profile does not appear in search at all, rather than appearing with a lock on it.
- Updates last a day. Post what you are working on; it is gone in 24 hours, and only the people allowed to see it ever do.
- You are never findable by accident. Discovery is opt-in, and accounts without a confirmed age stay out of it entirely.
